MELEAYA J. MERRIMAN

Meleaya J. Merriman is an Atlanta-born; Gainesville, FL native.

She began acting at twelve years old, at a small Black-Owned children's community theatre in her hometown.

She received her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and her Master of Fine Arts in Performing Arts from Savannah College of Art and Design.

Her stage credits include Tacoomah in Bob Marley's Three Little Birds, Mercy in School Girls; or, The African Mean Girls Play, Zoe in That First Fall, Normal Jean Reynolds in The Colored Museum, and Paulina in School Girls; or, The African Mean Girls Play.

On-screen, Meleaya's credits include short films such as A Letter to You, produced by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), as Chantay; Man of Heal as Kira;  No More Joy as Joy; and The Slasher as Breonna. As well as Hulu's "The Girl From Plainville," Ava Duvernay's Origin, and Clint Eastwood's film Juror #2.

 

Currently, Meleaya works in Live Entertainment as a Character Performer at Walt Disney World. Including being a cast member of Disney's Festival of Fantasy Parade, FANTASMIC! and The Hoedown Happening
